This year P-CEP has grown considerable in size with 54 players. It is the first year ever that we have 3 teams (freshman, JV, Varsity). It is a wonderful sport especially for incoming freshman because the team is a combination of all 3 high schools. It is a great way to meet new people, learn a new sport, and have fun! More About P-CEP Field Hockey UpdatesThe Canton Men’s Cross Country team competed in the Holly Festival of Races for the first time since 2017 and came away as Meet Champions. It was the first time in school history that Canton has won the prestigious event.Once again, Aiden Pengelly set the Canton meet record. Despite hot and Humid conditions, Aiden finished 2nd overall with a time of 15:45.Steven Dusseau, Clark Madden, and Ben Clark ran as a pack with times of 16:45, 16:45, and 16:46. But it was Cole Triffle who went down hard at the start, got up, and found himself trapped in the middle of the pack. Over the next three miles he worked his way up to 38th place ensuring the Canton victory.Despite the brutal heat, several Cobras ran personal best times. More About Canton Men’s Cross Country team competed in the Holly Festival of RacesCanton Cobra Girls Swim & Dive started their regular dual meet season vs campus foe Plymouth Wildcats.Canton dove to a 118-68 point win in the Canton pool.Canton won 8 of the 12 events with a highlight of (JR) Hannah Gurgel's 50 free state cut. Other Canton notables were Jasmine Pham (JR), Erin Yonker (JR), Ella Strutton (FR), and Brynn Sturdy (FR).Two of Plymouth's 4 wins were state cuts by Daniela Yuk. Canton moves focus onto the other park rivals, the Rocks of Salem HS. 6pm start on Thursday, Sept 19 at the Canton pool. Come cheer on the Cobras as they defend their Park Champ status. >
More About Canton vs Plymouth Girls Swim & DiveIt was another record breaking day for Aiden Pengelly and the Canton Cross Country boys. Despite taking on the top two teams in the state (Northville and Brighton), on one of the toughest courses in the state (Cass Benton), Canton finished with ten personal best times and a new Cass Benton record for Pengelly. Pengelly finished second overall with an impressive 15:51. He broke the Canton Cass Benton record by nine seconds and became the first Canton runner to break 16 minutes on that course.Second for the Cobras was Clark Madden (16:36). Clark is already the 23rd fastest Senior in school history.Right behind Clark was Junior Steven Dusseau. His 16:41 finish makes him the 17th fastest Junior to ever run for Canton.Finishing the scoring for Canton were Cole Triffle (16:57) and Ben Clark (17:04).Along with Madden and Dusseau, eight other Cobras ran season best times. More About Varsity Football vs. Novi Gameday Instructions for Friday September 13thP-CEP Field Hockey's September 8, 2024 Home Game Opener against Bloomfield Hills was a nail bitter! Both teams played hard and started the second half with a 0-0 score. Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks landed one in the net bringing the score 0-1. The game was wrapping up with seconds left and the P-CEP Panthers got a corner play. Nerves were high and the game at stake as Elizabeth Burnham, Junior, passed in the ball to Teresa Smith, Senior, for a power score! Game ended with 1-1 score.
More About P-CEP Field Hockey vs. Bloomfield HillsThe Cobras headed to Kensington Metropark on Saturday to compete in the Averill Invitational. When the dust settled, the Canton boys were holding the third place trophy.Aiden Pengelly led Canton with a tough 16:16, good for 2nd overall.Also medaling for Canton were Clark Madden (17:01) and Steven Dusseau (17:03). More About First Home Football Game vs. Howell>Great meet this evening (Aug 22nd) at the Kenzie Klassic in Howell. Great swims by everyone. 33 Canton girls completed in up to 4 of 12 possible events. This was our first meet (6 teams competing) so each girl had season best times. 24 races earned medals for top 6 finishes. 10 of the 12 events were won by Canton swimmers. Medley Relay (Hannah Gurgel, Tayla Smith, Ximena Murillo, & Amelia Pan), Hannah Gurgel in both 100 fly and 100 breaststroke made D1 state qualifying times. Go Cobras >
More About Girls Swimming Kenzie Klassic>Way to start the season!!!P-CEP Girls Field Hockey starts the season strong on Tuesday, August 20. They controlled the game with a 2-0 lead approaching half time over St. Catherine Siem Academy. St. Catherine scored twice but P-CEP pulled off a 5-2 victory. Senior, Teresa Smith scored 3 goals and Junior, Elizabeth Burnham scored 2 goals. They look towards their next game on Friday, August 23 against the Farmington River Hawks at the Farmington Athletic Field.
