On a soggy rain filled day of competition, the Canton Men’s Track & Field Team finished  3rd in the 16 team MHSAA Regional competition held Friday May 19th scoring a total of 63.5 points.  The team qualified 7 individuals  to the State Finals being held Saturday June 3rd at Rockford High School.

Advancing to the State Finals were Nathan Levine placing 1st in the High Jump with a jump of 6’6″. Also finishing first in the Long Jump and advancing to the State Finals was Quincy Isaac jumping 22’2″.  Derrick Graves was the third Regional Champ finishing in 1st place in the 110m High Hurdles with a time of 15.29 seconds.

The team was also paced by Adam Dicken who qualified in the 800 m run based on qualifying time of 1:56.7 Adam was also a member of the 3200m Relay Team that finished 6th in the relay with a qualifying time of 8.06.88.  Other members of the team were Brandon Blandino,Joey Miller, and Max Wiley. This marked the first tim in recent history that all 3 Park schools qualified for the State Finals.

Other team members who scored in the event but did not qualify for the Finals were Alex Monforton 3rd in the 110m High Hurdles (15.73, Quincy Isaac 7th in the High Jump ( 5’10”), Adam Dicken 7th in the 1600m run ( 4:25.89,  Nathan Gilmour finishing 4th in the 400m run in 51.9 , Mitchell Clark finishing 8th in the 3200m run ( 9:59.0),  the 800m relay team of Derrick Graves, Evan Haynes, Emory huntley, and Nathan Gilmour ( 1:33.39 ). the 400m Relay team of Quincy Isaac, Sayato Henney, and Nathan Gilmour ( 44.74), and the 1600m relay of Adam Dicken, Alex Monforton, Quincy Isaac, and Emory Huntley ( 3:37.5 )
