CONGRATULATIONS Canton Men's Track and Field Athletes and Coaches! What a banner day at the KLAA Conference Championships yesterday!

Out of the 16 teams in the KLAA Conference, Canton finished in 2nd place with 82 points! This is the team's highest league finish since Canton won the Conference in 2004, and the highest finish in Coach Shough's coaching career, fulfilling his pre-season labeling of this final season before he retires as his legacy season!

The team finished with two event Conference Champions, 10 individual All-Conference finishes (across nine events, several placing in more than one event), and another school record broken! Canton Men had. a. day.

Mitchell ran 4:21.13 in the 1600m Run, setting a new PR and School Record, and breaking the record of 4:21.26 recently set by Adam Dicken in late April. The original school record Adam broke had stood since 1988, now it's been broken twice by two different athletes just this season!

It is also worth noting that although only the top 4 relay teams in each event are named all-conference, two of our other relay teams did place high enough to score points, which helped the team reach its 2nd place overall finish:
  • 5th place (4 pts), Brandon Blandino (12), Damon Emerson (12), Joey Miller (12), Adam Dicken (12), 4x400m Relay, 3:31.10
  • 8th place (1 pt), Brandon Blandino (12), Ben Clark (11), Steven Dusseau (10), Adam Dicken (12), 4x800m Relay, 8:27.26

There were also some new individual Personal Records set:
  • Brandon Blandino (12), 800m Run, 1:59.95

  • Jordan Edelman (11), Shot Put, 41'07"
