The Canton Men’s Cross Country team competed in the Holly Festival of Races for the first time since 2017 and came away as Meet Champions. It was the first time in school history that Canton has won the prestigious event.
Once again, Aiden Pengelly set the Canton meet record. Despite hot and Humid conditions, Aiden finished 2nd overall with a time of 15:45.
Steven Dusseau, Clark Madden, and Ben Clark ran as a pack with times of 16:45, 16:45, and 16:46.
But it was Cole Triffle who went down hard at the start, got up, and found himself trapped in the middle of the pack. Over the next three miles he worked his way up to 38th place ensuring the Canton victory.
Despite the brutal heat, several Cobras ran personal best times. They include…
Ben Clark 16:46
Matthew Collins 19:54
Tobin Collins 17:42
Om Lakhani 23:02
Evan Nordhaus 22:06
Kamden O’Donnell 18:16
Nicholas Oliveira 20:25
The Cobras next race Tuesday, at Cass Benton, against Howell and Novi.
