The Canton Men battled through a tough race, against Salem and Plymouth, and came away with their 2nd straight City Championship.

Leading the way for Canton, and setting another Cass Benton course record, was Aiden Pengelly.  His 15:26 beat his previous record by an amazing 25 seconds.

The battle for second place was won by Steven Dusseau.  He passed the last of his opponents in the last kilometer and finished at 16:17.

After Plymouth took spots 3-6, Adam Dicken (16:39) and Ben Clark (16:43) finished 7th and 8th tying the score at 18.

The race came down to the fifth runner and Canton’s Neel Bangera (17:25), Brayden Creedon (17:34), and Kam O’Donnell (17:37) were the next three to cross the finish line for the 27-30 victory.

Kam’s time was a new personal best for the sophomore.  Also running personal best times were Michael Harris (19:36) and Landin Watkins (24:23).

The Cobras next race Friday is at Willow Metro Park in the River Rat Invitational.
