Canton Girls Swim & Dive (CGSD) finished off their dual meet season (Thursday, Oct 17) with a win at home vs Novi Wildcats.
After this meet vs Novi, the CGSD seniors were honored for their commitment to the program.
Seniors and their favorite event were:
Janavi Karanth (100 breast)
Neve Sena (diving)
Tatijana Shockling (200 & 500 free)
Niharika Pola (100 breast)
captain Emily Craig (50 free & 100 back)
captain Addy Miller (diving)
captain Lucy Gavin (100 breast)
captain Tayla Smith (50 free & 100 breast)
Canton finished their dual meet season with a 5-2 record in the KLAA West Division. Wins vs: Plymouth, Salem, Howell, Hartland, & Novi.
Losses vs: Northville, & Brighton
CGSD's next event is the JV Invitational held at Northville HS on November 1-2.
Then,
KLAA Conference Championships held at Novi HS on November 7-9th.
Finishing the season:
D1 State Finals held at the Holland Aquatic Center on November 22-23.
Current individual Qualifiers for state meet:

Hannah Gurgel (11) - 200fr, 200IM, 50fr, 100fly, 100fr, 500fr, 100bk, 100br
Ximena Murillo (11) - 100fly
Mina Kennedy (10) - 200fr, 200IM, 500fr
Amelia Pan (9) - 200fr, 200 fr, 100fr, 100bk
The 3 relays are yet to be determined. Additional personal are expected to help qualify 3 relays. Swimmers/divers are allowed to compete in 4 events, no more than two individual events.
