MHSAA D1 State Prelims & Finals for Girls Swim & Dive were at the Holland Aquatic Center on November 22 & 23.
Canton Girls competing in 3 relays and 9 individual events.
200 Medley Relay - 25th: Tatijana Shockling (SR), Jasmine Pham (JR), Ximena Murillo (JR), Abigail McAskin (FR)
200 Freestyle: Hannah Gurgel (JR) 2nd, Amelia Pan (FR) 9th, Mina Kennedy (SO) 15th
50 Freestyle: Tayla Smith (SR) 7th
100 Butterfly: Ximena Murillo 13th
100 Freestyle: Tayla Smith 15th
500 Freestyle: Mina Kennedy 13th
200 Freestyle Relay - prelims: Hannah Gurgel, Abigail McAskin, Amelia Pan, Tayla Smith - SCHOOL RECORD 1:37.43

On Friday 52 teams competed in 12 possible events. Athletes accomplished qualification times, previously at competitions during the season.
On Saturday, the top 16 places in each event came back to compete for points in finals
6th place - 133pts: Canton High School
5th place - 138pts: Zeeland High School
4th place - 142pts: Grand Haven High School
3rd place - 165pts: Northville High School
2nd place - 222pts: Jenison High School
1st place - 386pts: Ann Arbor Pioneer
MHSAA defines Division 1 high schools to have 1530 students (or more) as of the spring date 3/12/2024.
Canton is the 31st largest high school in Michigan with 1985 students.
